Celebrate the Nation’s birthday with a colorful red, white and blue party for the entire family. Help decorate Prairietown, march with the militia, taste homemade ice cream and join in the fun on the historic baseball field. In the true spirit of the holiday, help us honor our country with the presentation of the flag and recognition of war veterans.

Country Fair

Bring the whole family for a celebration of Indiana’s farm heritage! Head to the re-created 1886 agricultural fair to see the area’s largest hog, visit the zany Tent of Wonders, play a game of historic baseball or taste test delicious homemade pies. Then watch an antique tractor parade to see how tractors have changed through the years. Grind corn, meet the animals, participate in agricultural equipment demonstrations, sample heirloom apples and enjoy festival foods and music.

Headless Horseman

Your family’s favorite fall festivity is back with even more spooky scares! Huddle close on a haunted hayride keeping your eyes open for skeletons, witches and ghosts trying to warn you about the infamous Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow. Stay for ghoulish ghost stories around the campfire, live music, s’mores, Halloween crafts and frightfully fun entertainment for the entire family. Fill up on caramel apples, apple cider, kettle corn and other delicious fall foods.

Free Legal Advice for Veterans

Friday, July 10th @ Haughville Public Library: 2121 W. Michigan St. Indpls. from 10:30am to 4pm.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law’s “Mobile Law Office” will be coming through town to provide free legal assistance and representation to low-income veterans. This stop is part of a nation-wide tour of the Mobile Law Office, designed to provide veterans with legal aid on federal benefits issues. Hendricks County's Largest Arts and Crafts Show
Saturday July 18th from 8a to 3p 

The 31st annual Festival of the Arts will feature expanded activities, along with more than 100 artisans and craft exhibitors from around the Midwest.  The event's focus is fine art with artists representing a wide range of styles and mediums featuring pieces of art from paintings to wood-working, jewelry, ceramics, and so much more.  In addition to the exhibitor's arts and crafts, the Festival has added a gourmet food court featuring a wide variety of choices and goodies for attendees.  The new kids area will bring children's performances and art projects to make the Festival an annual family event that is fun for everyone!  All proceeds go directly to the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce.  Admission is $3 per person and children 12 and under are free!

 


 

Hummel Park Summer Concert Series Presents- The Tides

Saturday July 25th- 1500 S. Center St., Plainfield, 46168 @ 6:30PM

Tickets can be purchased in advance and are $7 for general admission lawn seating and $10 the day of the show.  Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and coolers.  Alcohol is not permitted.  Contact the park office at 317-839-9121 for more information.

 


  

Movie Nights w/ Rivoli Center for the Performing Arts, Inc.

Youth Connections Family Fun Festival

Saturday, August 29th @ Hi-way Lanes (Bowling Alley): 400 N. Morton St. (aka US-31) from noon to 6pm

The event offers bowling, corn hole, rock wall climbing, miniature golf, face painting, and much more! There will also be a dunk tank featuring well-known local residents as the “dunkees.” Featured food includes barbeque sandwiches, hot dogs, sides, and soft drinks. 5th Annual Anna’s Celebration Ride

This celebration is not just for bikers! In addition to the ride, there will be music, dancing, a raffle, silent auction, a hog roast, door prizes, and much more! Bike entry is $20 per vehicle. Registration begins at 10am with the first bike out at 11:15am. The hog roast will take place after the ride at the Johnson County Eagles #4132 (located at 564 N Front St. in Whiteland) at 3pm. All proceeds benefit Anna’s Celebration of Life, an organization that helps enhance the lives of local children with special needs. Brown County Humane Society's Chocalate Walk

Saturday November 14th @ 10am-5pm.  Nashville, In.

Chocalate Walkers will be able to sample different chocolates by visiting 30 participating retailers.  Local chocolate-makers and premier Indiana chocolatiers will be giving away chocolate to each Chocolate Walker.  A person can stop at as many shops as they wish and sample the delectable creations, all while seeing the beautiful town of Nashville at the start of the holiday season.  Tickets are $15 thru October 31st; $20 from November 1st until the day of the walk.  ALL proceeds go directly to the animals, for more details visit www.bchumane.org
